Payment Protection Insurance and Insurance Premium Tax
Insurance Premium tax (IPT) is a tax which is levied on insurance products sold in the UK. On 4 January 2011 the standard rate of IPT increased from 5% to 6%. Capital One Payment Protection Insurance policy holders are unaffected by this change, as the cost of this increase will be borne by us. Should the rate of IPT change in the future we reserve the right to charge you the associated cost. If this occurs and we decide to pass on the increase you will be made aware of the change in premium.
The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) and Insurance
The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) covers financial services firms which are regulated by the FCA. This means that the FSCS may pay compensation to consumers if a regulated business under the scheme is unable, or likely to be unable, to meet its obligations to you.
